Currently active UBC research projects relating to ancient philosophical traditions include:
- Ancient Commentators Project, a SSHRC-sponsored research project directed by Prof. Michael Griffin in the Department of Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies and the Department of Philosophy and Prof. Richard Sorabji (Oxford/KCL, United Kingdom).
- Attending to Mindfulness, a SSHRC-sponsored research project in philosophy of mind directed by Prof. Evan Thompson in the Department of Philosophy, drawing on resources from Indian philosophy and Buddhist meditative practice.
- Evolution of Religion and Morality, a major, SSHRC-sponsored project directed by Prof. Edward Slingerland with the Centre for the Study of Human Evolution, Cognition, and Culture.
